Report on a rescue device specializing in difficult mountain access. About thirty rescuers, doctors and nurses supervised for 3 days and 2 nights the runners of the Echappee Belle, an ultra-trail crossing the Belledonne massif each year. In addition to the usual risks associated with such a long race (dehydration, tendonitis, fractures, hallucinations, etc.), it is also necessary to manage access to the injured and their evacuation in mountainous areas where the weather is a key factor. For this, the rescuers have at their disposal a helicopter (by day), a quad, a pick-up and their legs. Coordination between the different teams, distributed between first aid stations connected to the road and others located a few hours´ walk in the mountains, is done via a radio network set up specifically for the event.>
